It starts off unique and entertaining, but grows stale as it tries to capitalize off bland gimmicks, eventually losing everything that made it unique and turning into yet another generic product. PLANTS VS ZOMBIES CRAZY DAVE SERIESHonestly, Crazy Dave is just a metaphor for the PVZ series as a whole. Instead, he gets to say lines like "Plant 5 mushrooms!" or "Capture the Spaceport!" Nothing that made him "Crazy Dave" even exists, and you could have just replaced him with any other generic narrator. No, he dosen't get anything that made him a unique and memorable character. PLANTS VS ZOMBIES CRAZY DAVE UPGRADEIn the rest of the PVZ spin offs, he serves one very specific purpose. Lead your team to frosty victory Get Crazy Daves Frozen Upgrade for Sticker Packs containing: - Legendary Iron Citron - Ice Peashooter. He appears way too much, stays way too long, and generally exists just to make lame jokes. Except he can't even do slapstick, seeing as how he can't even change his pose. He's a comic relief character in a series where all the comedy is done through slapstick. Why does Crazy Dave exist, then? To act stupid. (2000 ****ing years off the mark!) Furthermore, his role as the player's guide is replaced by Penny, his sentient time machine. He gets us lost in time, not because of Craziness, but out of sheer stupidity. He sets off the main plot because he wanted to re-eat a taco, giving him a motivation as well as some sense of reasoning. All of these made him a uniquely strange character, who would show up, spout gibberish at you, then leave. Furthermore, he didn't appear very often in game, showing up only to talk about game mechanics. He had no motives of any sort, simply because was CRAZY! Eating food you found off Random Zombies, putting random seed packets on your select screen, helping the zombies to invade your house, he did these for no reason at all. He did things that sane people wouldn't do, for reasons nobody could understand.
